ROLE: DESIGNER | ILLUSTRATOR
Panda Express
Panda Express approached internal storytelling with fresh ambition, and I had the opportunity to shape its creative direction across a multi-year scope.
This wasn’t just about delivering a single video. It was about defining an entire visual world for a three-part internal onboarding series, set to unfold over three years. From style direction to character design, I crafted a bold, playful visual language that reflects Panda Express’s vibrant culture.
The goal was to move beyond standard corporate messaging creating something employees could genuinely connect with. Every detail, from environments to expressive characters, was designed to feel dynamic, warm, and unmistakably Panda.
The result is an onboarding experience with a distinct identity and tone, one that lays the foundation for lasting internal engagement.
Adapting Visuals Across Roles
One of the key challenges was adapting a wide range of roles—managers, employees, and customers into a cohesive visual style. Each character needed to feel distinct yet part of the same world. I carefully played with proportions, expressions, and wardrobe to bring out their personalities while ensuring they fit seamlessly within the playful, bold style of the videos.
